Project Brief

Our client wanted to expand their product range with Wind Lidar systems that could determine wind speed and direction at various distances from the platform. Variants were required to measure the wind in a vertical or horizontal directions.

Our Approach:

Wideblue worked with clients to design the external environmental housing, power distribution, beam steering, and beam dither.

Wideblue was responsible for:

  • Mechanical design environmental housing, motor control
  • Electronics design of power distribution
  • Manufacture of prototype for field deployment
  • Optical design and simulation of beam steering and dither

Our Solution:

Units were built for different clients. All units have been validated in real life conditions and have been field deployed in wind farms for more than two years successfully validating their technology.
