eSystem Chain Oil

Project Brief:

Scottoiler asked Wideblue to help them redesign the electronics and update the firmware on their award-winning eSystem motorcycle chain lubrication system. The eSystem senses motorbike engine vibration and movement with a triple-axis accelerometer and automatically dispenses lubrication to optimise chain and sprocket performance and reliability.

Our Approach:

Working with the Scottoiler technical team, Wideblue redesigned the system electronics around an updated microprocessor and made several changes to improve EMC performance. Extensive bench and application testing was conducted to ensure the design was sufficiently robust to cope with the harsh conditions experienced in all-weather riding.

Our Solution:

Wideblue updated the firmware, adding a real-time clock and devising a more efficient data storage method in order to support a broader range of multi-language interfaces.
